Still cold here...we went for a walk during midday...we kept it short than we went to fill up the tank for the truck...for some reason Sunday is the best price for gas most of the time...the price of gas usually peaks on Wednesday where I am at...now I am drinking three berry milkshake with French Vanilla ice cream...it needs more sweet but its still yummy...today I tried to make a specific baked sweet savoury cracker from Cyprus..I was searching for a recipe for this thing for a while and finally yesterday I found a video showing how its done authentically... this is a baked food specific to the region on the long tip of the island... a place called "Karpas" also known as "Καρπασία"...this is cracker kind sweet and savoury snack food normally made in very special days like feasts... although its soo good in my opinion I can snack on it any day...in the end what you obtain is a very though (hard to bite) crunchy sweet salty and herbal cracker...they make it in the shape of a "cage" where it has its name from "kafes"...anyways this cracker is covered with sesame, black seed and anise seed...inside it there is flour, butter, sugar, salt and yeast...you make a good dough with these and rest it for a very long time than make small ropes with the dough and you construct the cage...after you put the cage in the seeds and make sure everywhere is covered with them...its cooked in wood fire in an earth oven but this last thing and anise seed was not available in my version..it ended up a good snack but not exactly the taste and texture I remember..mine was a little bit softer...although it needs to wait for a while to reach the crunchiness and toughness...I guess next time I need to reduce the amount of sugar and the butter...reader if I get the correct ratios I will give the recipe for you to try here...yesterday I drank three beers and spin some vinyls including Siouxsie and the banshees, Joy Division, Deep purple and The Smiths...I have two beers left....:(
